The NMA is of the opinion that all school should not resume until all those who are under surveillance for the ebola virus disease (EVD) in the country has been certified free
Speaking through its National Secretary general Dr Olawunmi Alayaki, the NMA said" we can shift the resumption till next year or 3months time if tat ithe period it will take, government should have enough time to follow the procedure for containing the virus"
Advising parents not to be in a hurry to send their wards back to school
Dr Olawunmi said "if ebola should spread to any school, it will take another dimension as children cannot survive isolation like adults
Also speaking, The lagos state chapter of the NMA through Dr Tope Ojo
Said that many public and private schools in the country lacks proper hygiene, and sanitary facilities that could help prevent the EVD by pupils, adding that it would cost the Government nothing to wait for those under surveillance have completed the 21 days in all the states they are been monitored.
