According to a recent tweet by award winning on air personality, Toolz (Tolu Oniru) the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has banned the public broadcast of viral tune ‘Shoki’ by Lil Kesh.
The song was reportedly banned by the NBC because the Yoruba slang ‘Shoki’ means ‘Quickie’. YBNL Boss, Olamide has since taken to Instagram to confirm the ban and also announce another new song by his artiste, Lil Kesh.
See Toolz tweet below: @toolzO No way! Nbc just band @mynameiskesh @olamide_Ybnl
@ToolzO "apparently, "shoki" means 'Quickie in Yoruba. Never heard of that before
Responding to the Ban, lilkesh wrote:
"Lmfao! NBC don ban my song o! Shoutout sawon goons mi. Thank you for the love and the support #TeamYbnl
