A prostitute in Abuja was arrested after being accused
of stealing $3200 from a customer
A commercial sex worker in Abuja has been arrested
and charged to court after she was accused of robbing a
customer of $3200 (N521,183.67).
23-year-old Rosemary Ebikeme was reportedly taken to a
hotel by the client and while there, she took the money from
him and made away with it.
She was however arrested when she came in contact with
the complainant again.
Ebikeme is said to have confessed to the crime saying:
“Please have mercy on me, I am a student and I am only
looking for money to pay my school fees.
“I stole the money to do business so that I will not sell my
body again for money please forgive me.
“I stole the money from him, even though he paid me
N5,000 for my service, please have mercy in God’s name,’’
She has been sentenced, by a Magistrate court in the Life
Camp area, to spend 100 days in prison with the option of a
N5,000 fine.
