Gunmen suspected to be assassins, yesterday killed a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr. Shalewa Daramola, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of Lagos.
Daramola who is the Assistant Treasurer at the APC Amuwo Odofin chapter, was shot dead at 3rd avenue ‘K’ close, Festac Town, where members of his party were sharing Sallah gift when the incident occurred.
According to reports, the politician had stepped out to check his car when one of the gunmen said to be in his 20s, emerged from an adjourning close and accosted Daramola, demanding for money. When he refused, the gunman was said to have shot him four times, at close range before he jumped onto a waiting motorbike .
Although he was rushed to the Local government Primary Health Centre from where he was referred to another hospital in Festac Town, he died on the way to the hospital.
